About Secludis

Thoughtful software.
Meaningful control.

Secludis B.V. is a Netherlands-based software company building privacy-first applications for everyday digital life.

Our starting point
is the user.

Useful software should make things simpler while respecting the person using it. We want people to make informed choices about where their information lives and which services they use.

That belief shapes how we design our applications: more work on the device, fewer reasons to collect data centrally, and connections to the services people choose for themselves.

OpenStorage is our first expression of this approach. It brings supported cloud storage accounts into one convenient app while keeping files with the user’s chosen providers.

Our principles

Built into the way
we build.

These principles guide our decisions. Each product explains how they apply to its features and architecture.

01

Privacy by architecture.

Consider the flow of information from the start. Reduce unnecessary central handling of personal data through the structure of the software itself.

02

User control.

Give people clear choices about their own data and the services they connect. Explain the consequences in language they can understand.

03

Local-first design.

Make use of the device in your hands. Keep processing and application data local where the product and platform make that practical.

04

Interoperability.

Build connections to supported providers and services. Respect their interfaces and make it easier to work across them.

05

Minimal data collection.

Collect information for a defined purpose, keep it proportionate to that purpose, and avoid adding collection just because it is possible.

06

Clear communication.

Explain what a product does, how it handles information and where its limits are. Make the practical details easy to find.
